The Taycan is Porsche's first fully electric vehicle, after experimenting with blending battery power and performance in cars like the 918 Spyder and the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. The coupe-styled four-door luxury sedan with electric AWD and RWD variants is aimed squarely at the Tesla Model S.
What makes the Taycan special?
The Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo have two exceptionally efficient electric machines, one on the front axle and one on the rear axle, thus making the cars all-wheel drive. Both the range and the con- tinuous power of the drive benefit from the high efficiency of the permanently excited synchronous machines.
